The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the revered Bapu’s emphasis on non-violence for the protection of humanity:

“अहिंसा परमो धर्मस्तथाऽहिंसा परन्तपः।

अहिंसा परमं सत्यं यतो धर्मः प्रवर्तते॥”

The Subhashitam conveys that, nonviolence is the highest duty, nonviolence is the highest penance. Nonviolence is the ultimate truth, from which all Dharma proceeds.
