Two-Day National Seminar on “Transforming Tax Administration through GST Digital Architecture”

Motilal Nehru College (Evening), University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), is organizing a Two-Day National Seminar on “Transforming Tax Administration through GST Digital Architecture: Compliance Behaviour, Revenue Outcomes, and Ease of Doing Business” on 23rd and 24th March 2026 at the S.P. Jain Auditorium, South Campus, University of Delhi.

The seminar will be graced by Prof. Saket Kushwaha as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Rajni Abbi as the Guest of Honour. The event is being held under the patronage of Prof. Sandeep Garg, with Dr. Renu Kumari Verma serving as the Seminar Convenor.

The seminar will witness participation from eminent academicians, policymakers, and tax experts from leading institutions. Notable speakers include Prof. Sacchidananda Mukherjee, Prof. Shakti Kumar, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Prof. Harendra Kumar Dangi, Prof. K. M. Bansal, and Prof. Dolly Sunny, among others.

The seminar will also feature distinguished speakers and practitioners including Aditya Yadav Jt Com CGST, Lalan Kumar from the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, and Prof. R. P. Tulsian, who will bring valuable insights from administration, policy, and academia.

The seminar aims to critically examine the transformation of India’s tax administration following the introduction of GST in 2017, with a focus on digital governance, compliance behaviour, revenue mobilisation, and ease of doing business.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sandeep Garg, Principal, Motilal Nehru College (Evening), stated:

“This seminar reflects our institution’s commitment to engaging with contemporary policy challenges. GST as a digital tax reform has far-reaching implications, and such academic platforms are essential for meaningful policy discourse.”

Dr. Renu Kumari Verma, Seminar Convenor, added:

“The seminar seeks to bring together diverse perspectives from academic, administrative, and policy-oriented minds to understand how digital architecture under GST is reshaping compliance behaviour and fiscal outcomes in India.”

The programme will include inaugural and valedictory sessions, plenary lectures, technical sessions, panel discussions, and research paper presentations by scholars and participants from across the country. Selected papers will be considered for publication in accordance with ICSSR norms.
