And here is the beautiful irony I’ve witnessed again and again: so often, the very people who fear they’re regressing are precisely the ones growing the fastest. The ones who truly are stuck almost never think they are. The truth is, so much of the path may not feel good, especially in the beginning as we deepen. Imagine an octopus whose tentacles have been wrapped around your heart and lungs for so long that you’ve come to think it is you — that this is simply how your heart feels. Spiritual growth is the slow, sacred work of unhooking those tentacles one by one. It frees us. But as each one releases, it can hurt. It can feel disorienting, even like, “This isn’t me. What’s happening? Why did life used to be more fun?” And yet these very discomforts are some of the most powerful signs of growth. In this video, I share 7 of these surprising signs — changes that can so easily be mistaken for something going wrong but that are all actually great signs of progress on the path. Each one of these 7 can shake our confidence and make us doubt the path. But once you understand what these signs are actually telling you, they become something else entirely: powerful confirmation that you are exactly where you’re meant to be.
