Dearest Parmarth family,When you imagine a spiritual awakening, what comes to mind? A burst of bright light? A rush of energy up the spine? An overwhelming wave of oneness with the whole universe, tears streaming down your face? That’s what most of us are waiting for. And so we frequently miss the real thing entirely, because the first sign of awakening is almost always something far quieter. In fact, I think that most of you have already experienced it. You may have noticed it for just a moment, thought “that was strange,” and gone right on with your day. Here’s a small hint at what I mean: it’s the subtle realization that you are not one, but two. That in any given moment, there is the part of you caught in the emotion — the anger, the anxiety, the joy, the craving — and there is another part, quietly watching it all. Untouched. Stable. Aware. There is misery, and there is the awareness of misery. There is the wave tossing you about, and there is the one watching the ocean from the cliff above. Noticing. That shift, from being lost in the wave to witnessing it, is one of the most powerful doorways on the entire spiritual path. And most people don’t even stop to notice. In this video, I share how to recognize that moment when it arises in your life, how to harness it into a deeper state of expanded awareness, and how to cultivate it in your own meditation and daily life. I also explain one critical distinction I feel is deeply important: the difference between genuine awakening and dissociation. They can look similar from the outside, but they are worlds apart: one is a splitting away from life, the other a deeper arrival into it. Knowing the difference matters hugely, and I explain how to know what’s going on for you and why it’s so important. When that subtle moment comes for you — and it will, I promise, if you’re watching — my hope is that you’ll recognize it for the doorway it truly is, and walk through, arms and heart open.Click here to watch! With love and peace from the holy banks of Mother Ganga, In Sacred Service,
